Enrolment 2026

Thank you for your interest in Kananook Primary School and for your child to start their primary education in 2026 as a Foundation (Prep) student. We are now accepting applications for enrolment for next year.

The Department of Education has a statewide timeline for enrolling in Foundation (Prep). The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation at a Victorian government school, including Kananook Primary School

To apply to enrol your child in Foundation at our school, you should:

  1. Read about how to enrol your child in Foundation at Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). This webpage has information and resources for families, including an enrolment information pack for parents/carers.
  2. Complete the appropriate form attached. There are two forms to choose from. If you live within the Kananook Primary School zone, then please complete the Enrolment Form. If you live outside the zone, then you should complete the Student Application Form. School Zones can be found at findmyschool.vic.gov.au

To find what school your residence is zoned for, go to the Find My School, Enter your permanent residential address, choose Primary and 2026 and then click <ENTER>

Please either email your completed form to kananook.ps@education.vic.gov.au  or post/drop in hard copy by Friday July 25, 2025 If you require a paper copy of the form, please contact our school office on 03 9786 6066

We will notify you of the outcome of your enrolment application by August 8 2025 in accordance with the statewide enrolment timeline.

It is important to submit your enrolment application to us on time as it will ensure your child is included in all transition activities if offered enrolment at our school.

 

Privacy collection notice

We ask that you review the Department of Education Schools’ Privacy Collection Notice. This notice explains how the department, including Victorian government schools, handles personal and health information.

 

Department of Education Enrolment Policy

Enrolment at our school is subject to the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy. Students who live within our school zone must be offered a place. Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. All other applications will be considered in accordance with the Placement Policy.

Priority order will be

  1. students within the zone,
  2. siblings living at the same permanent residential address as a current (2025) student enrolled at Kananook Primary School
  3. students living outside the school zone in order of distance from the school (not the border of the zone)
