Physical Education Program

At Kananook we see Physical Education as a vital part of the school curriculum.  Teachers give priority to giving the children the mandated amount of Physical Education each week. Whole school Fun Runs are an annual event along with our much anticipated House Sports in December each year. Our passion for providing Physical Education throughout the school allows us to be one of the largest participants in the Pines/Seaford District during Inter School Sport Competitions.

All children in Years 3-6 have the opportunity to represent Kananook in the following sporting activities:

  • Track and Field Events
  • Cross country
  • Swimming Sports

Children in Years 4-6 are given the opportunity to represent Kananook against schools in the Pines/Seaford District in:

  • Netball
  • Football
  • Volleyball
  • Rugby

Select children are also given the opportunity to try out for the District combined team in Netball, Football, Soccer and Basketball.

Our large school grounds assist with our focus on providing active participation in sport. At Kananook we have:

  • a large soccer oval
  • a large football oval
  • a tennis court
  • a volleyball court
  • a netball/basketball court
  • fitness/workout stations
  • an indoor hall which houses our PMP program for our junior school children
  • modified basketball rings for the younger children
  • numerous four square courts
  • extensive supply of Perceptual Motor Skill equipment for the prep/1 children
