Health & Physical Education


For students to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours that enable them to

  • maintain good health and live a healthy lifestyle
  • understand the role of physical activity in ensuring good health
  • engage in physical activity


Health and Physical Education has two dimensions:

  • Movement and physical activity
  • Health knowledge and promotion


Movement and physical activity focuses on developing confidence in using movement skills and strategies to increase students’ motivation to become active as well as improving their performance and maintaining a level of fitness.
Health knowledge and promotion examines physical health and personal development across various stages of the lifespan and focuses on factors which promote the physical, mental, social and emotional health of individuals, families and communities.
